MultiCat Wheel Loaders for Forestry

Forestry work in New Zealand happens in some of the roughest terrain the country has to offer. Remote tracks, steep grades, dense bush, and unpredictable ground conditions. MultiCat wheel loaders are built to handle it, with 4x4 traction, tractor-grip tyres, and a low centre of gravity that keeps the machine stable where others would struggle.

Whether you are running a commercial forestry operation, managing a woodlot, or clearing bush on a rural property, MultiCat has the machine and the attachments to get the job done.

Log Handling

MultiCat's log grapple attachments are purpose-built for timber work. Available in 1.2m (for the LX100) and 1.5m (for the LX150), they grip, lift, and place logs with control and precision. The swivel log grabber adds 360-degree rotation, letting you position logs exactly where they need to go without repositioning the machine.

The stick bucket with grapple handles branches, slash, and forestry debris that standard buckets cannot manage. It grabs, lifts, and loads irregular material efficiently, keeping work areas clear as you go.

Land Clearing and Bush Management

Clearing scrub, secondary growth, and undergrowth is a constant job in NZ forestry. The flail mower handles heavy vegetation and rough terrain where rotary mowers would choke. The brush cutter takes on thicker material. For permanent clearing, the stump grinder removes stumps below ground level, letting you replant or develop the area without obstacles.

The wood shredder attachment (available by inquiry) processes slash and branches into mulch or wood chips on site, reducing waste and turning debris into a usable product.

Access and Track Maintenance

Forestry access tracks take a beating from heavy machinery, weather, and erosion. The 4-in-1 bucket grades and repairs tracks. The leveler smooths surfaces after heavy use. The digger arm clears drainage channels to prevent washouts.

At 1.6m wide, the LX100 navigates narrow bush tracks and skid sites where larger machines cannot go. Its 35 km/h top speed means moving between work areas across a forest block is quick, not a half-day exercise.

Tough Conditions, Tough Machine

MultiCat machines are designed with simplicity and durability at their core. Fewer complex electronic systems mean fewer things to fail in wet, muddy, dusty forestry environments. The 80 litres per minute hydraulic system on the LX100 powers demanding attachments like grapples and hammers without hesitation.

Every machine is backed by a 2-year parts warranty, and parts are held in New Zealand for fast replacement when you need it.

The Right Setup for Your Forestry Operation

A typical forestry-focused MultiCat setup might include the LX100 or LX150, a log grapple, a stump grinder, a flail mower, and a 4-in-1 bucket. That combination covers log handling, clearing, maintenance, and general material shifting, all in one machine at a fraction of what it would cost to hire or buy separate equipment for each task.
